TAMIL NADU PREVENTION OF INCITEMENT TO REFUSE OR DEFER PAYMENT OF TAX ACT, 1981 Tamil Nadu Prevention of Incitement to Refuse or Defer Payment of Tax Act, 1981. Act No. 9 of 1981 An Act to prevent incitement to refuse or defer payment of tax and other dues payable to the Government, local authorities, etc. BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement " (1) This Act may be called the TAMIL NADU PREVENTION OF INCITEMENT TO REFUSE OR DEFER PAYMENT OF TAX ACT, 1981. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th November 1980. 2. Definitions " In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, " (a) "Government" means the State Government; (b) "Public servant" shall have the same meaning as in section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (Central Act XLV of 1860). 3. Punishment for incitement to refuse or defer payment of land revenue, tax, etc. due to the Government, etc. " Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, who ever by words, either spoken or written or by signs or by visible representations, or otherwise," (a) (i) encourages or incites any person or class of persons, or the public generally, to refuse or defer payment of, or to resist or obstruct payment or collection of, any land revenue, tax, rate, cess or other dues or amount payable to the Government or any local authority, or payable under any law or custom having the ...

THE COIMBATORE CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1981 THE COIMBATORE CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT (XXV OF 1981) An act to provide for the establishment of Municipal Corporation for the City of Coimbatore in the State of Tamil Nadu. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirty-second year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement. " (1) This act may be called THE COIMBATORE CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1981. (2) It extends to the City of Coimbatore. (3) It shall come into force on such date, as the Government may, by notification appoint. 2. Definitions. " In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (1) "appoint" includes to appoint temporarily or in an officiating capacity; (2) "appointment" includes temporary and officiating appointments. THE TAMIL NADU DEBT RELIEF ACT (XIII OF 1980) THE TAMIL NADU DEBT RELIEF ACT (XIII OF 1980) An act to provide for the relief of certain indebted persons in the State of Tamil Nadu. Whereas it is expedient to provide relief to certain indebted persons in the State of Tamil Nadu from the usurious practices of pawnbrokers, money-lenders and other non-institutional sources of credit and to give relief from the debts due to such pawnbrokers, money-lenders, and other non-institutional sources of credit. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirty-first year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.
